How to add an ACH / Bank Account?

Paying via ACH is a great way to avoid the 2.9% credit card processing fee. To protect your account, a one-time verification step is required before your ACH can be used for payment.

πŸ’‘ Heads up: The verification method is determined by your bank β€” not Saltbox.

Depending on how your bank processes ACH verifications, you'll automatically be guided through one of the two flows below. You won't need to choose β€” just follow the steps that appear.

Option A β€” 6-Digit Descriptor Code

  1. After adding your bank account, OfficeRnD will send a $0.01 test debit to your bank account to generate a descriptor code. This may take 1–2 business days to appear in your bank statement.

  2. When it appears, look for a transaction that reads something like:

     SMJUKY-SALTBOX ACCTVERIFY 2026-03-11 ST-W7H8K7B4A8V6

The first 6 characters before the hyphen (e.g., SMJUKY) is your descriptor code. You can find this in the Note or Memo field of the transaction in your bank statement or banking app.

  3. Log in to your Members Portal and go to Billing β†’ Payment Details.

  4. Click Verify below your bank account details, enter the 6-character descriptor code, and click Verify to confirm.

You have 10 attempts to complete this step. If you run into any trouble, we're here to help β€” just reach out at [email protected].

Option B β€” Two Small Micro-Deposits

  1. Two small amounts will be deposited into your bank account. This may take 1–2 business days to show up in your bank statement.

  2. Once you see the deposits, log in to your Members Portal and go to Billing β†’ Payment Details.

  3. Click Verify, enter the two amounts exactly as they appear (e.g., 0.32 and 0.47), and click Verify to confirm.

  4. Once complete, your account status will update to Verified and you're all set.

⚠️ If verification doesn't go through on the first try, let us know right away at [email protected] β€” we'll step in and work with our payment partner, Stripe, to get it sorted manually so there's no delay for you.
