Moving to a different suite — or a different plan — as your business changes? Here's how your security deposit moves with you.
Upgrading to a larger suite
Your deposit scales with your new suite. You'll pay the difference between your current deposit and the deposit for your new, larger suite — not a whole new deposit.
Downgrading to a smaller suite
When your new suite's deposit is lower than what you have on file, the excess is credited back to you. That credit is applied to your upcoming invoices by default, or refunded if you'd prefer — just let us know.
Transferring to another location
If you're moving to a different Saltbox, your deposit transfers with you — you won't be asked to put down a second deposit while the transfer is processed. Because deposits are set by suite, the amount on file is compared against what your new suite requires:
Your new suite requires a higher deposit. You'll pay the difference only, the same way an upgrade works at your current location. The difference is billed on your next invoice, not collected up front.
Your new suite requires a lower deposit. The excess is credited to your account and applied to upcoming invoices, or refunded on request.
The deposits match. Nothing changes — your existing deposit carries over as-is.
A location transfer isn't a move-out, so your deposit isn't forfeited and there's no walkthrough deduction, as long as your suite at the original location is left clean and empty. Your two location teams coordinate the timing, and Billing confirms the deposit math in writing before the transfer is finalized.
How and when credits appear
Deposit credits are applied once your suite change is finalized — you'll see them on an open or upcoming invoice, and we'll note the amount and reason.
