Saw a charge labeled S.O.S. or Saltbox Operations Support and want to know what it is? Here's the short version. (If you're looking at an older invoice, you may see this same service listed as eForce or Elastic Workforce — it's now called S.O.S.)
What it is
S.O.S. (Saltbox Operations Support) is our on-site operational labor service. It's trained team members doing hands-on warehouse work in your suite, billed at $45 per hour in 15-minute increments, with a 15-minute minimum. You'll see this charge when you've booked S.O.S. for work like:
Kitting and bundling products for orders.
Receiving and put-away beyond the complimentary first 15 minutes.
Inventory counts and cycle counts.
Labeling or relabeling product.
Building shelving or reorganizing your suite layout.
Why it might appear even if you didn't book labor
A few situations use S.O.S. time to coordinate work on your behalf, and those appear as an S.O.S. charge too — for example, oversized or non-standard disposal, or move-out cleaning and hauling. If a charge like this is unexpected, that's worth a quick message to us.
Where to find it and how to ask about a charge
S.O.S. charges are itemized in the Billing tab of the Saltbox app, alongside your membership and other services. If a charge looks off or you're not sure what it was for, open the in-app chat or email [email protected] and we'll pull up the details for you.
